Two Home Theater Options To Family Entertainment By: Chet Holcomb
There are two home theater options you have to building a home theater for your family entertainment. The first is the most cost effective way and is known as the "In A Box" or mini home theaters system where all you need is a good TV to get started.
These home theater systems In A Box come with the basic components to get set up fast and easy and some include the speakers all with very attractive price tags.
The big drawback to the "In A Box" home theater is that some don't allow for extra plug in's like for video games etc... and you may not be able to upgrade to better speakers in the future if you are not happy with the sound.
Always check with the dealer for these options before you purchase for a low price now van be costly later in the future.
The other option to build a home theater system is more high tech but comes with a higher price. By doing your homework on equipment then shopping around for the best deal will get you into a home theater system buying separate components of exceptional quality.
A big screen TV with a wide screen can be a projector type or not and will give you the feel of a real cinema and surround sound will give you the sound quality that is desirable to compliment the set.
Plasma TV is definitely taking over the look of the box TV and can be mounted on a wall. The average size plasma TV is around 42 inches with a 1024 X 768 pixel resolution and a 60,000 screen life can display HDTV signals.
If you really want a massive screen and can afford the extra cost a rear projection TV is what you want. The picture is projected and reflected onto the screen from behind.
Similar to the rear projector are the front projector which is not inside the TV and is more like a film projector that give more of a traditional movie theater effect with screens as big as 200 inches.
Now that you have some information on screen types you don't want to put a projector type in a small area.
As a personal note plasma TV's are popular right now and will give you more than what you want, or expect.
Some important tips to mention are a darker screen is better unless using a projector where white is what you want. A flat screen will have the least amount of glare and won't distort the image.
The speakers are next in order for a quality home theater and you should buy the best you can afford.
Decide weather you want two large speakers that can be divided into channels, or several smaller speakers placed throughout the room, or mounted on walls.
For the extra cost surround sound will deliver quality sound to your home theater.
